What is McCall?

McCall Centre for  Transitional Care is an extension of Trillium Health Partners (THP) but is owned and funded separately. McCall Centre is known as the transitional facility for clients prior to making their way back in to the community and is designed for clients waiting for placement within the community. McCall Centre has a total of 141 beds in which 21 beds are for Long Term Interim clients. The remaining 99 beds are allocated for clients with a variety of care needs and to support the safe transition of clients out of hospital. McCall Centre's client population is composed of individuals requiring Chronic Care, Palliative Care and Slow Stream Rehab (SSR) Care. Length of stay depends on the changing needs of McCall Centre's client in which co-payment required prior to transitioning into the community. The Centre provides a full array of services including nursing, physiotherapy, recreational, dietary, spiritual care, social services, maintenance and housekeeping. Depending on client needs, a physician makes regular visits up to twice a week. For emergencies, there is a physician on call. McCall centre also uses the diagnostic services available at the Trillium Health Partners locations. (Trillium Health Partners, n.d.).
